Morphology

| Leaves | sessile. |
| Blades | 8.5-14 cm long x 6.8-9.0 cm wide, dark green, mottled (rarely not), mottling fading with age. |

| Sepals | 38-60 mm long x 5-12 mm wide. |
| Petals | 40-80 mm long x 8-12 mm wide, maroon or purple basally, green to yellowish green towards the tip, occasionally entirely purple, slightly twisted or not. |
| Anthers | 13-20 mm long, with latrorse dehiscence. |
| Ovary | 5.5-10 mm long, hexagonal. |
| Stigmas | 6-10 mm long, distinct. |

Distribution
United States: Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.
