Morphology

Leavessessile.
Blades8-20.5 cm long x 5-8 cm wide.
Flowersessile.
Sepals28-60 mm long x 7-9 mm wide.
Petals35-68 mm long x 5-15 mm wide, green to yellow, with or without purple markings (rarely entirely purplish), not spirally twisted.
Anthers8-21 mm long.
Ovary5-12 mm long.
Stigmas5-10 mm long, distinct.

Anthesis

Flowering from late April to May.


Distribution

United States: Illinois and Missouri.
