Morphology

Scapes30-60 cm, terete.
Leavessubsessile or sessile.
Blades10-18 cm long x 10-20 cm wide.
Flowerpedicellate.
Sepals20-40 mm wide x 6-15 mm wide.
Petals40-70(-76) mm long x 15-40 mm wide, (creamy) white.
Anthers6-20 mm long, with introrse dehiscence.
Ovary7-12 mm long, hexagonal.
Stigmas2-5.5 mm long, distinct.

Anthesis

Flowering from April to May.


Distribution

United States: Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
