Morphology

Scapes20-30 cm, terete.
Leavessessile.
Blades3-8.5 cm long x 1.5-3.5 cm wide.
Flowerpedicellate.
Sepals11-22 mm long x 5-6 mm wide.
Petals20-35 mm long x 5-10 mm wide, white, turning pink with age.
Antherswith introrse dehiscence.
Ovary2.5-6 mm long, hexagonal.
Stigmasconnate at the base.

Anthesis

Flowering from early March to mid April.


Distribution

United States: Georgia and South Carolina.
