Morphology

Scapes14-40 cm, terete.
Leavessessile.
Blades6.5-17 cm long x 6.5-9.8 cm wide, mottled, mottling fading with time.
Flowersessile.
Sepals22-47 mm long x 8-9 mm wide.
Petals34-66 mm long x 10-21 mm wide, yellow to greenish yellow, not spirally twisted.
Anthers9-16 mm long, yellow, with introrse dehiscence.
Ovary5-8 mm long, hexagonal.
Stigmas3-4 mm long, distinct.

Anthesis

Flowering from April to May.


Distribution

United States: Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolna, and Tennessee.
