Morphology

Leavessessile or not.
Blades12-20 cm long x 8-15 cm wide.
Flowerpedicellate.
Sepals20-55 mm long x 12-23 mm wide.
Petals40-75 mm long x 20-40 mm wide, white (rarely pink), fading to pink-purple with age.
Anthersyellow, 5-16 mm long, with introrse dehiscence.
Ovary8-18 mm long, hexagonal.
Stigmas3-18 mm long, somewhat connate at the base.

Anthesis

Flowering from April to June.

Canada: Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec.
