Brief Description

A perennial, Andropogonoid grass to 5 m tall. Blades to 2 m long, 3-25 mm wide.

Panicles 20-90 cm long, composed of rames with many sessile-pedicellate pairs and terminating in a triad of 1 sessile and 2 pedicellate spikelets. Spikelet pairs all appearing similar. Sessile spikelets 4-6 mm long. Lower glume pubescent. The pedicel of the pedicellate spikelet is shorter than the sessile spikelet.
