Description

A Pooid grass 20-100 cm tall. Ligules 1-4 mm long, composed of erose-ciliolate membranes. Blades densely and softly hairy.

Panicles 3-20 cm long x 1-8 cm wide. Spikelets 3-6 mm long, with 2-3 florets. Lower glume 1-veined. Upper glume 3-veined. Lower lemma unawned. Upper lemmas awned, the awn hooking when mature. Anthers 3. Ovaries glabrous.
