Morphology
A rhizomatous, perennial grass with culms 40-60 cm tall, 1.5-5 mm thick. Ligules 1.5-4 mm. Blades 9-29 cm long, 2-7.5 mm wide.
Panicles 15-25 cm long, 6-15(20) cm wide. Branches 8-12 cm long. Spikelets 3.5-6 mm long, 1.4-2.5 mm wide, with 3-6 florets. Lower glumes 1.5-2 mm. Upper glumes 2-2.6 mm. Lemmas 2.5-3.5 mm, 7-veined. Anthers 2, 0.5-0.9 mm.
