Commentary

A clumping sedge usually found in wet soils, peat mucks, and other acidic grounds.  It is a dominant forb on at least one floating bog mat in northeastern Ohio.  

The inflorescence tends to curl downward at maturity becoming droopy, with the perigynia becoming brown at maturity.
