Commentary

______________________________

A robust plant of seepy areas and springs; frequently forming rhizomatous stands.

At three sites sampled in northeast Utah, two forms appeared to be present with equivalent heights but differing in mass; a light green form with achenes appearing sterile and a darker, glaucous fertile form. The light green form appeared to be in the drier portions of each site, while the glaucous form was found in muckier soils, uncommonly in standing water of over twenty centimeters.
