Description

Fruiting period May to August.
Culm height 15 - 75 cm.
Leaf 1.5 - 3   mm wide.
Terminal spike    gynecandrous.
Lateral spike pistillate to gynecandrous.
Perigynium

circular to  biconvex in cross section. 

Achene trigonous in cross section.
Style deciduous.

Habitat

Dry to seasonally wet woodlands; well drained soils, upland.
