Description

Culm height 20 - 100  cm.
Leaf 1.4 - 3.5   mm wide.
Terminal spike    gynecandrous.
Lateral spike gynecandrous to pistillate.

planoconvex to flat in cross section. 

Achene biconvex in cross section.
Style deciduous.

Habitat

Meadows, stream banks, fens, woodland edges.
