Description

Flowering period May to July.
Height 4 - 37  cm.
Leaf 0.8 - 5   mm wide.
Terminal spike staminate; or androgynous.
Lateral spike pistillate.
Perigynium  circular in cross-section.
Achene trigonous  in cross-section.
Style deciduous.

Habitat

Woodlands; wet hillsides, stream edges, riparian flood plains.

Fusiform perigynia; pistillate and staminate scales are connate.
