Description

Flowering period April to July.
Height 10-90 cm.
Leaf 1.2 - 5.3  mm wide.
Terminal spike staminate.
Lateral spike pistillate.
Perigynium circular to biconvex in cross section.
Achene trigonous.
Style deciduous.

Habitat

Fens, limestone quarries, alvars; wet to seasonally wet woodland margins.
