Description

Fruiting period April to July
Culm height 20 - 90 cm.
Leaf 1.7 - 4.5  mm wide.
Terminal spike   gynecandrous
Lateral spike gynecandrous to pistillate.
Perigynium planoconvex to flat  in cross section. 
Achene biconvex in cross section.
Style deciduous.

Habitat

Seepy areas, fens; alkaline to neutral soils.
