Description

Fruiting period June to September.
Culm height 15-70 cm.
Leaf 1.5 - 5.0 mm wide.
Terminal spike    gynecandrous.
Lateral spike gynecandrous to pistillate.
Perigynium flat to planoconvex in cross section. 
Achene biconvex in cross section.
Style deciduous.

Habitat

Higher elevations; 1400-3300 m.;
moist ground of meadows and seeps.
